Testimony
My name is Dwayne Elliott Huff. Jesus Christ saved me from being homeless and unemployed. This is my story. My dad was an alcoholic and gambler who abused my mom and terrorized the kids. I am the first born son. I have three brothers and two sisters. Living with my dad became impossible to bear. I decided to seek my own destiny. I left home with no other place to stay. I was desperate for a temporary shelter during the day. The library is where I learned my lesson. One day , I fell asleep one of the library tables. When I woke up there was a man with a bible standing there. He asked me if I wanted to know Jesus. I said ,Yes ! I thought, I better try Jesus. Everything else had failed. The bibleman's name was Bill. Bill wasnt much better off than I was. The big difference between us was that Bill knew Jesus. At the time we met , he was staying at the YMCA. We ended up being homeless together. We became best friends quickly. We shared whatever we had. Bill was from Highland Park, Illinois,which is one of the wealthiest cities on the famous North Shore of Chicagoland. Bill told me that an evil stepfather abused him. Thats why he left home too. For a while we were homeless in Highland Park. We had a backpack, sleeping bag and travel alarm clock. We would sleep in the mansions that were under construction at night. We left before the workers would arrive in the morning. Bill invited me to join him at church and bible study. I sat in the back row of the church because I was afraid. Bill encouraged me to participate in worship and communion. He said , " You need it just as bad as I do ! " I took the leap of faith and risked it all. Now its the best part of my life. I met an oustanding Christian woman at bible study. We are a happily married family with one wonderful boy. Jesus gave me an abundant new life .He can do the same for you too. Try Jesus today. Your life will never be the same again.
